These videos offer a first-person view of the left hand and a mirrored view of the right hand. It’s important to emphasize, though, that these videos are not meant to replace a good teacher. Instead, they are designed to support both students and teachers by helping to avoid common mistakes early on — mistakes that could waste valuable lesson time if left uncorrected.

These handcrafted under-string mutes are perfect for guitar and ukulele players of all ages and skill levels. They gently dampen the sound of the instrument while maintaining accurate pitch, making them an ideal solution for late-night practice without disturbing neighbours or housemates. They’re also an excellent tool for creating unique sound effects during performances. Some composers are already incorporating them into their work to partially or fully mute strings, adding depth and richness to their soundscapes.

Made from a combination of felt, cork, and foam, these mutes are lightweight, flexible, and pocket-sized—easily fitting into a jacket or trousers pocket. They’re available in wine, dark blue, and black. A larger version is available for 7-string guitars, as well as a half-size version that covers only three strings.

These transparent pads are made of silicone and naturally adhere to any type of finish without damaging the instrument. They provide added stability for players of all levels and help reduce playing tension.

The larger pad should be placed textured side up on the upper bout, where the left leg touches the guitar. The smaller pad goes on the lower bout, where the right leg makes contact. Both pads can be trimmed to fit your guitar and can be washed with warm water if they become dusty or greasy. Once cleaned and dry, they can be reattached easily.
